As I mentioned before, I’ve seen eki stamps, but never put any energy into them. Just like most that don’t really pay attention, I would stamp a piece of paper and that would be it.
Since last year (2023), I was thinking on how I could make my trips even more interesting and I came across videos and people that were into stamps. Now this is more of the ink stamps vs postal stamps. Japan has stamps in a lot of places and after seeing people having a stamp book, I decided to do the same.
It is true, these stamps give you an additional layer of saying you were at this station or I was on this train. It was an great experience doing this. I also mixed it with other stamps such as memorial or commemorative stamps I found in other places.

When I returned in July of 2024, I was able to add a couple more books.

I couldn’t believe I filled out 3 books. But that doesn’t include my stamps in Taipei (MRT stamps) as well as others (goshuin and gojoin).
