Choshi Port Tower and Electric Railway
Choshi was far. I only went out this way to get my All Japan Towers stamp and to ride Choshi Electric Railway (saw it on NHK Railway journals).
Once at JR Sakura station, I took the Sobu line.
I read that the Information center at the station wouldn’t rent out bikes to foreigners. There was a suggestion of going up the street and asking the bicycle repair shop. I was turned down by both.
I was about to give up, but figured I came all this way and the walk was pretty far. So I took the taxi to Choshi Port Tower.
I am so glad I did. Choshi Port Tower was really nice!
But the main goal was achieved!
On the way back, I decided to get on the local train, Choshi Electrical Railway. I saw a special on NHK Railway Journals. A lot of smaller lines, railway companies and rural areas are not busy. These lines are loved by local communities that they serve.
