After waking up in Narita, I waited until the JR office opened up and got my JR Pass started. I immediately went to Tokyo.

Since this part of the trip was unplanned, I decided to get some Eki stamps and go around Tokyo for at least most of the morning.

Once I got to Ueno station, I put my stuff in a locker and headed out.

Since it was early morning and commutes were happening, I decided to head to get some eki stamps. So I went around to some of the stations on the Yamanote line before I headed to Asakusa area. I went to Tokyo Skytree, but it was still closed at 9am (which I was hoping it would be open). I was also going to go to the temples and shrines, until it started to rain.

I was planning to go to Nikko this trip, so I stopped by the Tobu Asakusa office to look into the ticket prices. I was going to buy one, but Itabashi-san said he would pick me up, so I held off until I actually got more confirmation.

I got on the subway system to go to Tokyo Tower (subway has the closest station) and getting some eki stamps here and there.

Tokyo Tower was about a 15min walk. Raining and a bit overcast, I was glad the views weren’t too bad. While here, I got my 2nd ‘All Japan Towers’ stamp and the goshuincho and goshuin from Tokyo Tower shrine.

Afterwards, I went back to Ueno station and took the Shinkansen to Nagoya for the evening.

Once I got to Nagoya, I started to go look for eki stamps. What I found out is that JR Central (Nagoya) and Nagoya Subway don’t offer eki stamps! I was kind of surprised by this.

I stayed on Sakae area, which was really nice. A lot of food and things to see. The Mirai tower was nearby, so I would get my ‘All Japan Towers’ stamp. I would also finally check out Oasis 21. Both Mirai tower and Osasis 21 are gorgeous at night.

I stayed the night at Anshin Oyado in Nagoya. Anshin Oyado is a capsule hotel chain. I’ve stayed at quite a few, but usually at the end of my trips, I would stay in Shinjuku’s location due to easy access to N’EX to Narita Airport.

This was my 1st time using this location in Nagoya and I will stay here from now on.
