- 19 Towers to complete!
All Japan Towers failures 2024
I had a good start of this stamp rally earlier in March/April 2024. I could have gotten 4 more towers during that time, but I made a mistakes.
March/April 2024
- Sapporo TV Tower – flight canceled to Sapporo
- Higashiyama Sky Tower – went to Nagoya Port instead
- Tsutenkaku – There was a long line and I didn’t have patience
- Kaikyo Yume Tower – skipped because I was trying to get to Hiroshima “in time”.
July 2024
- Crossland Oyabe – It was mentioned time of closing was 10:30pm, but closed early.
- Tojinbo – I wanted to go here, but it was just to long of a trip.
- Twin Arch 138 – I arrived shortly after closing time, but it looked like everything was closed.
- Higashiyama Sky Tower – no time.
Annoyed..
While I did miss 4 towers during the 1st trip, I knew if I could layout my time right, I could get Tsutenkau and Higashiyama Sky Tower. Sapporo tower and Kaikyo Yume tower would be out of the way and that could be planned for other trips.
For July, I decided to use the Hokuriku Arch Pass route to move between Tokyo and Osaka. I could get Crossland Oyabe and Tojinbo towers on the way.
Crossland Oyabe tower was such a let down. I made sure of the closing time (on the website said it was 10:30pm) and when I got there at 6-7pm, it was closed. I couldn’t believe it. Not only that, it wasn’t easily accessible and I had to walk back to the closest train station.
These 2 were the main failures as I actually went to them.
Tojinbo and Higashiyama Towers were just no time.
Tojinbo in Fukui was going to take 1.5 hrs and during that time, I re-evaluated my time there since it was short. Going to the castle ruins took longer than expected, but also it started to rain. I decided not to go there.
Higashiyama Tower in Nagoya and I thought I would have time to go to them, but the day I set time for it, things took longer than expected (Nagoya Castle, Subway museum and Sakae shopping) and I was passing my timeframe to go to Higashiyama tower. Plus, if I could see it at night, it would be better.
