This portion of my trip was unplanned, so there some ideas on what to do.

I initially thought about spending the day going around and getting eki stamps, but to my dismay, Nagoya seemed to be eki stamp unfriendly! Both JR and Subway systems didn’t offer eki stamps.

I then went to Nagoya Castle, but it was still closed. In retrospect, I should have stayed and waited until it was open. But I decided to go to the Nagoya Port area.

So eki stamps were not available, I figure that the port building should have stamps of the mascots, Mitan and Potan.

Most of the time, memorial stamps are offered at these tourist spots. All the towers have them for example. I figured that the Nagoya Port tower would have this too.

Was I wrong. This place and even a few other places nearby had NO mascot stamps!!!

I also felt I spent too much time at the Nagoya Port building. It was cool, but I was very unsatisifed as the stamp I got was just of a seagul!

I was definitely disappointed as my stamping mission in Nagoya felt like a failure. I skipped out on Nagoya Castle and spent too much time at a port building that didn’t offer much.

Before I left for Osaka, I walked around the Sakae shopping area checking out a temple and shrines, collected some goshuin and got on the Shinkansen.
